Each caregiver who attends the training will receive a Certificate of Completion. For many caregivers, such as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), the Certificate of Completion will be enough to document their participation.* Other caregivers such as Registered Nurses and Social Workers, need the more formal Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to meet their on-going training requirements. Continuing education units (CEUs) are a means of recognizing and recording satisfactory participation in non-degree programs. University of Wisconsin-Extension (UW-Ex) awards one CEU for each 10 contact hours in a continuing education experience. UW-Extension CEUs fulfill continuing education requirements for many professionals, agencies, and organizations. Professional associations may have specific licensing requirements. Individuals should contact their licensing association before assuming UW-Extension CEUs will fulfill all requirements. Continuing Education Credits may be awarded to training participants who successfully complete the course. Forms needed to apply for CEUs will be available at the training. *Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) do not need CEUs to meet their in-service requirements. This training will apply towards the in-service requirement in most cases. Check with your employer to make certain. |
